1/10/24 – Concerts

NORTHWOOD AREA CONCERT, THURSDAY, JANUARY 11TH, 7PM
On Thursday 1/11 at 7pm, our Wind Symphony will be performing in our annual Northwood Area Concert, bringing together students from Sierra Vista Middle School, Brywood and Canyon View Elementary Schools, as well as our Northwood Timberwolves! The groups will perform for each other and then share the stage in a heartwarming finale. It is such a special moment for our kids to reflect upon their musical journeys as they play side-by-side with middle school and elementary kiddos, and it gives all of those younger kids the chance to see what lies in store for their own musical future!  This is a free concert.

In order to minimize disruptions, please plan to arrive by 7:00pm and stay for the duration of the concert. Thank you!

SYMPHONY IRVINE COLLABORATION CONCERT, FRIDAY, JANUARY 12TH, 7PM
On Friday 1/12 at 7pm, our Philharmonic Orchestra will be performing in a very special collaboration with a professional orchestra – Symphony Irvine! Both our Philharmonic and the professionals will be giving their own performances – including the encore performance of an incredible composition by one of our NHS students, Ellie Hsueh! Then, much like how the middle and elementary school band students will be sharing the stage with our high school band the night before, our Philharmonic Orchestra will be performing side-by-side with the professionals on an incredible finale of Mussorgsky’s “Great Gate of Kiev” from Pictures at an Exhibition.  KMA vouchers are not applicable for this exclusive performance. Tickets are $10 for general admission, $5 for students and senior citizens, and IUSD employees are free with ID.

In order to minimize disruptions, please plan to arrive by 7:00pm and stay for the duration of the concert. Thank you!

CONCERT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
We are in need of a few volunteers to help with this week’s concerts. Please sign up HERE if you are able to help. It would be best to volunteer for a performance in which your student is not performing, but if you do, admission will be complimentary and we will ensure that you do not miss your student’s performance

THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR WONDERFUL MARCHING BAND VOLUNTEERS!
It’s hard to believe than another marching band season has come and gone. Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped to make this season run so smoothly. From the uniform fittings over the summer, to all the food that was ordered, picked up and passed out, to hauling the band equipment to and from every game, to setting up the stands for every performance, to making sure the students got into and out of their uniforms on time and in an organized fashion, to selling fanwear and documenting it all with photos and video… each and every one of you had an impact on this season and we appreciate everything you did to support our students. A huge, heartfelt thank you to all of you!

KMA CONCERT VOUCHERS TO BE DISTRIBUTED NEXT WEEK
A sincere thank you to all of those who have made a tax-deductible donation to our music program! Be on the lookout for your concert vouchers which will be distributed during your student’s music class next week. While donations are not required to participate, a tax-deductible donation will help sustain our program at its current level. Donations of any amount are welcome at any time – no donation is too small to make a significant impact! Please visit https://timbmusic.org/donate to help Keep Music Alive at Northwood!
