MARCHING  BAND UNIFORM CLEANING PREP, 2/7
We are looking for volunteers to help us prepare our 200+ marching band uniforms for cleaning. Please sign up here to help out THIS SATURDAY, February 7th from 9:00am-noon. Breakfast will be provided. Help out for an hour or stay the whole time, any and all help is appreciated! Students are welcome and will receive volunteer hours.

CSUF WINDS FESTIVAL, 3/7
Our Wind Symphony band will be joining high schools from across southern CA and performing at the CSUF Winds Festival on Saturday, March 7th. Friends and family are welcome and encouraged to come watch our performances at 3:00pm (Wind Symphony) in Meng Hall. The concert is free!

We could also use a five chaperones to assist our students that day. Transportation and food will be provided. Please click here if you are able to assist. Thank you for your support!

BAND SPECTACULAR, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 5th, IRVINE HIGH SCHOOL
Northwood High School and University High school team up to host this city-wide event which will feature all 5 of the Irvine high schools performing their halftime shows, and all 6 middle schools joining the high school marching bands to play together on the field. Admission for spectators is $10 for an individual or $25 per family (up to 4). Tickets can be purchased at the event. We encourage elementary students to attend. Food and refreshments will be available for spectator purchase. This is our final performance of the year — you won’t want to miss it!

BAND SPECTACULAR PERFORMANCE INFORMATION:

• 4:30PM – CALL TIME AT IRVINE HS
• PARKING IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. PLEASE CARPOOL.  ***STUDENTS SHOULD PARK AND BE DROPPED OFF AT THE BACK LOT OFF ESCOLAR***
• WEAR– Band shirt, athletic shorts, BLACK socks & Dinkles  (MUST HAVE BLACK crew socks!)
• BRING – Instrument, Water
• DO NOT BRING – Backpacks, purses, personal belongings of any kind
• MEET – AT THE OUTDOOR BASKETBALL COURTS, NEAR THE GYM
• NHS CORE VALUES ALWAYS, AND STAY WITH A BUDDY AT ALL TIMES.
• PLEASE PLAN YOUR RIDE ACCORDINGLY.  Director approved pick-up location is the front parking lot off Walnut, near the swim building.
• PERFORMANCE AT 7:00PM – We will be performing to the HOME stands. All NHS spectators should sit in the HOME stands.
• STUDENTS WILL BE DONE AROUND 9:00PM
• We will be feeding students first thing at 4:30pm when they arrive, so don’t worry about rushing home for food after school.
• TRUCK LOADING: If you have an open 7th period, we will be loading the trucks at that time.  All Band Staff, PIT, Leadership, Uniform Staff, Drumline, Tubas & CG should attend.

This Thursday is our SENIOR REC FOOTBALL GAME – OCTOBER 30th AT 7:00 pm @ IHS 

Before the game, TIMB volunteer photographers will be taking photos of our marching band seniors on senior rec night.  We will be taking individual photos of the seniors, seniors + family photos and if there is time senior buddy photos.

Here is some information on the senior pictures to help things run efficiently.

We want to ensure that all of our seniors get the opportunity to have their portrait taken in the short window that we have before the football game begins.  Seniors and parents – please come prepared for the photos (makeup/hair/instruments) to help keep the process efficient.  There will be stations for “senior only photos” and then stations for “seniors + family”.  There will be a TIMB parent helping to direct you to the correct stations!

SENIORS & SENIOR FAMILIES:

4:45pm: Senior call time at the Irvine High School basketball courts.  ALL SENIORS HELP UNLOAD TRUCKS, GET INTO UNIFORM ASAP.  If we cannot get in to the gym at this time, please set up the tarps on the court, and change outside.  Once dressed, immediately head to the track for pictures. No shakos for pictures! :)
5:15pm: Seniors and senior families meet at the football stadium/track for photos.  (Family & individual photos FIRST.  If there is time, we will allow SENIOR buddy photos)
5:15-6:10pm: Senior photos inside the football stadium (Last photo will be taken at 6:10… Band must be lined up and heading to pre-game at 6:20)

EVERYONE ELSE:
5:30pm – Call time at Irvine High School
WEAR – Band shirt, athletic shorts, black crew socks, dinkles.  HAIR UP AND OUT OF YOUR FACE.  No jewelry.
BRING – Instrument, Water, ALL MUSIC/LYRE.  We will have the IHS gym to leave our cases in, and use to change in to uniforms.
DO NOT BRING – Backpacks, purses, personal belongings of any kind.
MEET – On the basketball courts behind the pool/gym promptly at 5:30.

6:25 pm:  Pre-Game Performance  – Senior recognition for CHEER on the field.
7:00pm: Kickoff

PICK UP APPROX. 8:45-9:00 pm: We will be releasing students after HALF-TIME!  Students will need to change out of their uniforms, and load trucks. Please plan your ride accordingly.  Director approved pick-up location is the front parking lot off Walnut.

TRUCK LOADING: If you have an open 7th period, we will be loading the trucks at that time.  All Pit, Band Staff, Leadership, Drumline, Tubas & CG and anyone else with a kind heart who wants to help should attend (if you have an open 7th).

TRUCK UNLOADING: Since we have IIFT on Saturday, we will be leaving the trucks loaded after Thursday for our event on Saturday.  NO TRUCK UNLOADING THURSDAY NIGHT.

We will be feeding you after halftime at the gym after you change.

IRVINE INVITATIONAL FIELD TOURNAMENT @ IHS

Saturday 11/1 is the Irvine Invitational Field Tournament! Performance is at Irvine High School.  DROP OFF/MEETING LOCATION IS AT HERITAGE PARK BEHIND THE LIBRARY.   THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO DROPPING OFF AT IRVINE HIGH SCHOOL!

EVERYONE :
4:30pm – Call time TO HERITAGE PARK.  DO NOT PARK AT IRVINE HIGH SCHOOL!!!  Park at the park, or in the adjacent neighborhood.  Get dropped off at the park, or carpool.  Parking is extremely limited.  DO NOT GET DROPPED OFF AT IRVINE HIGH SCHOOL – GO TO HERITAGE PARK!  WE ARE MEETING AT THE PARK BEHIND THE LIBRARY!!

WEAR – Band shirt, athletic shorts, black crew socks, dinkles.  HAIR UP AND OUT OF YOUR FACE (rule will be heavily enforced for this performance).  No jewelry. [MEET AT HERITAGE PARK] BRING – Instrument, Water [DO NOT PARK AT IRVINE HIGH SCHOOL] DO NOT BRING – CASES, Backpacks, purses, personal belongings of any kind.  WE WILL NOT BE IN THE GYM! [GET DROPPED OFF AT HERITAGE PARK] NHS CORE VALUES ALWAYS, AND STAY WITH A BUDDY AT ALL TIMES [ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU’RE AT HERITAGE PARK!]

4:45-5:30pm – WALK OVER TOGETHER TO WATCH OTHER BANDS.  All students will get a wristband, and must walk in/sit/stay together.

5:30-6:00pm – Unload trucks/EAT DINNER – Location TBD

6:00-6:30pm – Students change into uniform by trucks (put down tarps). All 3 trucks will be parked together where they tell us on that day. Location TBD.

6:45- 7:20pm – Warm-Up – Location TBD (They will give us a designated warm-up location on this day)

7:30pm – PERFORMANCE IN IRVINE HIGH SCHOOL STADIUM

7:45pm – Head over to the Irvine High School outdoor amphitheater next to new theater to RETIRE THE SHOW.

8:00pm – RETIRE THE SHOW. This is a private and solemn ceremony, and because of that, we ask that there be NO PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEO of this time.  This tradition goes back to the beginning of the school, and is something that lives on in our memories and hearts.  If you see any family or friends who are filming during this time, please politely ask them to stop.   Feel free to film EVERYTHING inside the Stadium!!!

PICK UP APPROX. 9:00pm – PICK UP ONLY AT THE FRONT LOT OF IRVINE HIGH SCHOOL BY THE AQUATIC CENTER.  THE BACK LOTS WILL NOT BE ACCESSIBLE TO ANY INCOMING TRAFFIC AT THIS TIME.

TRUCK LOADING: Trucks will already be loaded from Thursday night!  HOORAY!

TRUCK UNLOADING: We will be unloading the trucks after IIFT.  All Band Staff, Leadership, Drumline, Tubas & CG are required to attend.

PARENTS – Please drop off your student FIRST at Heritage Park (behind the library), before parking.  Since we will be arriving later than the rest of the bands, parking is extremely limited.  Park in the adjoining neighborhood, or at the park as well.  The front parking lot, and back parking lots will be blocked off for Marching Bands (we are 1 of 13 other HS Marching Bands performing).

Tickets to enter the stadium are $15 for adults, and $12 for seniors & children 5-14.  Children under 4 are free.

A special thank you to Xerxes Commisariat for feeding all the marching band students this season but a very special thank you this week for getting tacos for 400 students last Friday when we hosted SVMS!  

NORTHWOOD VS. ORANGE, HOMECOMING GAME, FRIDAY, OCTOBER 17TH, IRVINE HIGH SCHOOL STADIUM

Join us for this Friday, 10/17, at Irvine High School for the NHS HOMECOMING Game and many NHS alumni will be in attendance for all of the festivities.   The band will perform at the pre-game show, during the game, and at halftime. Invite family, friends, NHS & TIMB alumni; everyone is welcome!

Here are some additional details for our NHS families to make this a successful and fun evening!

Parents please remember that all TIMB volunteers need to purchase a ticket to enter the stadium to volunteer and/or watch the game.  Tickets may be purchases online prior to the game or purchased at the game using an electronic payment.  Cash will not be accepted.

5:30 PM – Call time at Irvine High School.
Wear your band shirt, athletic shorts, black crew sock, dinkles.  Hair needs to be up and out of your face.  No Jewelry.  Also, NO FACE PAINT/BODY PAINT FOR HOCO).
Bring your instrument, water, ALL Music and your lyre.  We have the IHS gym to leave our cases in and to use to change into the uniforms.
6:40 PM – Pre Game Performance
7:00 PM Kick Off
Food provided by TIMB to the students after their performance.
9:45 PM – 10 PM approximately.  Game should be over around 9:30 PM.  Student will need to change out of their uniforms and load trucks.  Please plan your pick up accordingly.  Director approved pick up location is the front parking lot off Walnut.

TRUCK LOADING: If you have an open 8th period, we will be loading the trucks at that time.  All Pit, Band Staff, Leadership, Drumline, Tubas & CG and anyone else with a kind heart who wants to help should attend (if you have an open 8th).

TRUCK UNLOADING: All Band Staff, Leadership, Drumline, Tubas & CG are required to attend.  Anyone who needs to make up for tardies should also attend.

MARCHING BAND BANQUET – NOVEMBER 8TH AT 4:30 pm @ NHS

SIGN UP NOW FOR THE MARCHING BAND & COLOR GUARD ANNUAL BANQUET & AWARDS!

Join us to recognize the end of our 2025 season by sharing a memorable evening with your marching band family which will include dinner, entertainment, an incredible slide show and awards. PERSONALIZED FLEECE BLANKET ORDER FORM FOR NHS MARCHING BAND

Order your 50″ x 60″ Fleece Blanket with customized NHS Marching Band logo, name, instrument, and graduation year! To order a blanket for your student, please complete the attached google form and make payment to Vivi Nguyen (a TIMB parent who will place a group order for interested parents).  The blanket is $26.  Payment options included in the google form.

THANK YOU to the many generous families who have given time and money to support music! Over the years, the students of NHS have continued to benefit from the generosity of our parents and community. Donations to this program will help maintain the integrity of our outstanding program, as well as cover ongoing costs. To maintain a high-caliber program, we are fortunate to have the Timberwolves Instrumental Music Boosters (TIMB) as volunteers at our events and to help raise funds to cover the costs of instruments, instrument repairs, sheet music, festivals and offsite performances, clinics and coaching, awards programs, and more.

Your donation will help us “Keep Music Alive” at NHS!  As part of TIMB’s fundraising efforts, we are requesting a donation of $125 per musician. At this time, roughly 43% of our families have made a donation to our program – thank you so much for your support! While donations are not required to participate, a tax-deductible donation will help sustain our program at its current level. We appreciate ANY amount you can give. Donations made to the program may help offset or eliminate the need for other fundraising activities. Your student’s participation in the program is in no way contingent upon your donation; however, we hope to continue to maintain the level of our programs. Based on the donations received, we may have to alter or cut some activities we have had in the past. Donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. Thank you so much for your consideration.

HAVE YOU SIGNED AND RETURNED YOUR INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC AGREEMENT (IMA)?All music students should have received a paper class syllabus and “Keep Music Alive (KMA)” information. Student AND Parent are REQUIRED to go online and sign the Instrumental Music Agreement, verifying you have read the class syllabus.

First HOME Football Game of the Season!

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 12th, NORTHWOOD VS. WOODBRIDGE at the IRVINE HIGH SCHOOL STADIUM.

TRUCK LOADING: If you have an open 8th period, we will be loading the trucks at that time.  All Pit, Band Staff, Leadership, Drumline, Tubas & CG and anyone else with a kind heart who wants to help should attend (if you have an open 8th). 

5:20 PM  Uniform and Band Staff Begin Unloading the Trucks
5:30pm: Student call time, meet on the basketball court outside the IHS gym.
6:30 pm:  Pregame Performance
7:00pm: Kickoff
9:30  (approximately) game should be over.
Truck Unloading after the game – All Band Staff, Leadership, Drumline, Tubas & CG are required to attend.  Anyone who needs to make up for tardies should also attend.

STUDENTS:

• Wear: Band shirt, athletic shorts, black crew socks, Dinkles
• Bring: refillable water bottle, instrument, lyre, all music and your flip folder
• Don’t bring personal belongings like a purse or backpack.
• Stay with a buddy at all times.

PARENTS:

• Please be ready to pick up your children when the game is over.  PICK UP APPROX. 9:45-10:00 pm: Game should be over around 9:30.  Student will need to change out of their uniforms, and load trucks. Please plan your ride accordingly.  Director approved pick-up location is the front parking lot off Walnut.

• Wear your “I’m with the Band!” fanwear to show support for our marching band at the football games!  We have navy t-shirts for $15 and navy zipped hoodies for $35.  We also have Northwood Music navy t-shirts and grey zipped hoodies.  Order online HERE and be ready for the next game!  TIMB volunteers will be selling Spiritwear at the game.  Look for their table just inside the gate.
